Have you ever wondered how high your Radio Controlled model could go?  Now you can find out.  Just install ZLog on your plane - be it a parkflyer, sailplane, hotliner, or 3D aerobatic.  At only 8 grams, your plane won't know it's there.  Instantly know how high your flight went with the onboard display.  You can also record the complete flight for analysis on your PC with the built-in USB interface and included software.

ZLog was designed to provide a lightweight, compact device for measuring and recording altitude over time. It was designed specifically for use onboard a radio controlled (R/C) aircraft, but should be useful in other applications. ZLog provides live altitude information at the field, via its onboard digital display, and recorded altitude data through a serial or USB interface.

To power the ZLog module, plug the 3-pin connector into a spare receiver channel on the R/C aircraft. If you do not have an open receiver channel, you can plug the ZLog into the receiver, and the plug that channel’s servo into the ZLog servo pass-through connector. For non-R/C use attach a battery to the servo pass-through connector.  A JST style connector can plug directly into the 3-pin pass-through connector.  The Zlog accepts a wide range of voltage input (4v to 30v DC) so it can be powered by almost any source.

Key Features:
  • Onboard display shows altitude information in real-time.
  • Tracks maximum altitude - find out how high your aircraft flew!
  • Display and record altitude in feet or meters.
  • Altitude resolution of 1 foot/meter.
  • Record altitude data for later review.
  • Configurable data recording rate as fast as 10 samples per second.
  • USB PC Interface for configuration and data download, plot, and analysis.
  • Onboard controls allow configuration in the field.
  • Includes PC software.
  • Marks altitude data when triggered from an external signal.
  • Exports data in Excel .csv format or as GIF, bitmap or JPEG images.
  • Accepts wide range of input power: 3.7 - 15 volts. Power from your aircraft receiver.
  • Firmware upgradeable.
  • Only 0.28 ounces (8 grams).
  • 1.57" x 0.92" x 0.37" (40 mm x 23.4 mm x 9.4 mm).

System Requirements:

  • PC with one of the following operating systems: Win98, Windows ME, Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows XP.
  • CD-ROM drive.
  • Available Serial Port (9-pin connector) or USB port.
  • 2 megabytes Hard Drive space.

This package includes the Zlog Mod 3, USB adapter, and software

Also check out the new video overlay device from DPC Video Products!  Vizion provides a live display of battery voltage, current, amateur radio callsign and flight time.  By plugging in a ZLog altimeter, Vizion also displays real-time aircraft altitude.  Look for it here at RC Dude Hobbies.
