Like all Hyperion aerobatic models, the new Katana F3A 90e was designed from the ground up specifically for electric power. To help the "engine" guys - who may be thinking about electric power for their next model - we've tagged it with the "90e" designation, which indicates the SIZE of the model would suit .90ci two-cycle or 1.2ci four-cycle engines, but that this model is all-electric.
For example, there is a cover on fuselage bottom that removes in just a few seconds, allowing fast access to the battery without wing removal. The model is designed so that balance can be achieved by shifting battery position, without adding additional ballast. And Hyperion engineers have also been ruthless in finding every chance to reduce all-up weight - yet they still managed build it tough enough to take hard landings in stride.
The Katana F3A, at 1.7M wingspan, is just a little smaller than a world-class 2M competition F3A model. This makes it the perfect way to learn and compete in local F3A pattern, but allows you to do it a much reduced cost, using the very reasonably-priced Hyperion Z4035-14 motor, and 3700mAh 8S battery pack rather than 5000mah 10S. Aside from the power-plant savings, the Katana F3A model itself costs well under half what most 2M ships do, yet provides the same razor-sharp pattern flights...
Finally, Hyperion has decked out their F3A entry is an exciting and extremely visible, high-contrast color scheme. Even if your eyes are a little tired, you won't have trouble staying oriented even at the top of big maneuvers. Nice!
This ARF with power set includes the Hyperion 4035-14 Brushless Outrunner Motor, Hyperion Titan 85HV Opto Brushless ESC (BEC needed), Extra Long 6mm Prop Adapter, Motor Mount, and 4mm Bullet Connectors.
